Roles & Responsibilities

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to a mentor or organizer anytime. Here’s who does what 👇

👨‍💻 Challenge Mentors

Challenge mentors are directly responsible for the hackathon challenges and are your main point of contact for anything related to the problem you’re solving.

They’ll support you by:

  • clarifying and explaining the mentor‑provided challenge
  • guiding you on functional aspects (what to build, how it should work, and which directions to explore)
  • ensuring your solution stays aligned with the challenge intent

Mentors by challenge area:

  • Energy challenges: Rene ten Hove
  • 🏥 Healthcare challenges: Fred Kwakkel

Their goal is to help you deeply understand the challenge and elevate your solution.

🧭 Organizers (Logistics & Event Support)

Organizers take care of everything around the hackathon experience.

They can help with:

  • event flow and schedule
  • venue, meals, and materials
  • general communication or logistical questions

Organizers:

  • Anca Selin
  • Maria Chivari
  • Szilard Vigh
  • Alexandru Oancea
  • Tibor Bruncsak

They’re your go‑to for all practical and organizational support.

🏆 Judges

Judges are responsible for evaluating projects based on the official judging criteria. They will review your solution, demo, and presentation to assess creativity, implementation, usability, impact, and clarity.

Judges:

  • Dragoș Metea
  • Gabriel Lupaș
  • Fred Kwakkel
  • Simina Filimon
  • Rene ten Hove
  • Tibor Bruncsak
  • Cosmin Mureșan

During the event, judges may also:

  • ask clarification questions during demos or pitching
  • provide high‑level feedback on your solution

While judges assess your work, challenge‑specific guidance should always come from mentors.
